This page explains what information LostBoost SAS, based in Paris, France (“LostBoost”, “we”), collects when you use lostboost.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. If you have any question, write to us at hello@lostboost.com.
1. What we collect
When you report a lost or found pet, we collect what you type in the form:
- Whether the pet is lost or found
- Your pet’s name, species, sex, photo and description
- The date and the place where the pet was last seen (address, cross streets or landmark)
- Your email address
- Any message you add
When you use the contact form, we collect your name, your email address and your message.
Like most websites, our server also records basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) to keep the site secure and working.
2. Why we use it
- To create and share your lost or found pet alert so people nearby can help
- To contact you about your alert, for example if someone sees your pet
- To answer your messages
- To keep the site safe and stop spam
Our legal basis is your consent (you send us the form) and our legitimate interest in running and protecting the service.
3. What is shown publicly
A pet alert is meant to be seen. The pet’s name, photo, description and the area where it was last seen may be shown on our website and shared on social media and with local pet groups. We do not publish your email address. Please do not put your home address or phone number in the description if you do not want them shown.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We only share it with:
- People and groups who help find pets (only the alert details listed above)
- Service providers who help us run the site, such as our web host and email delivery service, who may only use the data to provide their service
5. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed for the website to work and to load pages fast. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this site. If this changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent first.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your alert while it is useful to find your pet, and delete it when you ask us or when it is no longer needed. Contact messages are kept for up to 12 months.
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data, or to remove your pet alert. Just email hello@lostboost.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you live in the European Union, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Children
This service is not meant for children under 16. If you are under 16, please ask a parent to send the report.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the last change.
